METAL ETCH PRIMER BLACK

A PVB resin based primer which dries to a slight sheen finish having very good adhesion and opacity.

RECOMMENDED FOR: INTERIOR and EXTERIOR surfaces. Used as a primer on ferrous and galvanised metal surfaces. Due to its resin type and acid content, it has very good adhesion properties. Whilst overcoating is recommended, it is often used as a primer and finishing coat for metal furniture, railings etc.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: Not suitable for uncleaned galvanised iron.

APPLICATION: Thoroughly stir and apply 1 coat of Metal Etch Primer to prepared surfaces using a brush, roller or spray at the stipulated spread rates. Allow to dry before over-coating.

PLEASE NOTE: Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information on surface preparation, refer to our Surface Preparation Guidelines (available on request) from your nearest Paintsmiths store.

OVERCOATING TIME: > 2 hours

NOTE: It is essential to adhere to overcoating times, as specified for our various products. Prevailing weather conditions must be taken into account as ambient and substrate temperatures, humidity and wind etc., will influence drying time. Performance problems can occur if any of the previous coats have not been allowed to dry properly before being overcoated.

IMPORTANT: To prevent surface contamination, coatings must not be left longer than 48 hours between coats. If environmental or weather conditions have caused surface contamination, all surfaces must be thoroughly washed down before applying the next coating.

SPREAD RATE: +/- 6 - 8m2 per litre per coat

CLEANUP: Wipe excess Metal Etch Primer from brushes, rollers or spray Equipment using an absorbent cloth before washing with Lacquer Thinners.
