DAMPSOLV

A blend of a Solvent-based Acrylic binder and white cement, which gives Dampsolv its innate strength to block moisture seepage.

COLOUR: Off-white

RECOMMENDED FOR: INTERIOR and EXTERIOR surfaces. Used as a temporary protective coating to block moisture seepage and deter rising damp.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: Not suitable for application over painted surfaces, or where there is a strong positive water pressure. Also not suitable for surfaces with excessive water problems.
NOTE: this is a temporary solution - the cause of rising damp and water ingress must be treated to achieve a permanent solution.

APPLICATION: Thoroughly stir and apply a minimum of 2 coats Dampsolv to prepared surfaces using a brush or roller at the stipulated spread rates. Allow to dry before over-coating. Always ensure that the coating has dried in depth before over coating. For best results it is important to remove all paint coatings to expose the raw plaster, concrete, or masonry before the application of Dampsolv.

PLEASE NOTE: Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information on surface preparation, refer to our Surface Preparation Guidelines (available on request) from your nearest Paintsmiths store.

OVERCOATING TIME: > 12 hours

NOTE: It is essential to adhere to overcoating times, as specified for our various products. Prevailing weather conditions must be taken into account as ambient and substrate temperatures, humidity and wind etc., will influence drying time. Performance problems can occur if any of the previous coats have not been allowed to dry properly before being overcoated.

IMPORTANT: To prevent surface contamination, coatings must not be left longer than 48 hours between coats. If environmental or weather conditions have caused surface contamination, all surfaces must be thoroughly washed down before applying the next coating.

SPREAD RATE: +/- 4m2/litre/coat

CLEANUP: Wipe excess paint from brushes and rollers using an absorbent cloth before washing with Thinners.
